George Copadis is currently serving as Commissioner of New Hampshire Employment Security, having been nominated by Governor Lynch and confirmed by the Executive Council on Monday, July 16, 2012. Prior to joining the department, Commissioner Copadis has served as Commissioner of Labor since 2004, being re-nominated and reconfirmed in 2007 and 2010. He is affiliated with several non profit agencies and is currently serving his 16th term as President on the Board of Directors of the St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral. The Commissioner is currently serving his 29th year on the Manchester Housing & Redevelopment Authority, and is serving as the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners.
From 2007 to present, he has served as Chair of the State Employees United Way Campaign. Commissioner Copadis has been recognized for his volunteer efforts with the Laity Award for outstanding service on behalf of the St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Manchester, NH. In January 2000, he received the Spirit of Manchester Award from the Board of Mayor and Alderman for outstanding community service. He has served in different capacities within the workforce system since 1994.The Commissioner is a lifelong resident of Manchester, New Hampshire and received his Bachelor of Art Degree from the University of New Hampshire.
