Announcing the Mature Worker Program!

Concord-Mature Worker is a pilot work program being offered by NH Employment Security (NHES) and the NH Department of Business and Economic Affairs (BEA) in conjunction with Southern NH Services as well as other community action programs throughout the state. This job search and re-employment program is available to NH residents aged 55 and over who are served through our statewide American Job Centers and are:

  • Currently unemployed.
  • Seeking full-time work.
  • Are not currently receiving or have previously received WIOA services.

NHES will determine initial program eligibility, assist with NH Works Job Match System registration, and provide the AARP Foundation® workshop “7 Smart Strategies for 50+ Jobseekers”.

If program eligibility requirements are met, WIOA Career Navigators will assist with job search, job club and networking referrals, and occupational skills training based on an individual’s eligibility. This skills training could include:

  • An Individual Training Account for participants that require classroom training to successfully compete for employment opportunities.
  • On the Job Training which reimburses a company for the cost of training a new employee who would not otherwise qualify for the job.
  • A Retention Incentive for employers that would provide up to a $4,000 subsidy upon the completion of 8 months of employment.

For more information regarding the Mature Worker Program please contact Matt Cyr from New Hampshire Employment Security at 603-228-4056 or matthew.m.cyr@nhes.nh.gov.

The Mature Worker Program is funded by the U.S. Department of Labor through the NH Department of Business and Economic Affairs / Office of Workforce Opportunity.
