NHES Partners to Host Veterans Job Fair in October

CONCORD - The New Hampshire Department of Employment today announced that it has joined with several organizations to host The Veterans Job Fair on Oct. 11. While this job fair will feature specific assistance to veterans and military spouses, the event is open to all job seekers and employers.

NH Employment Security (NHES) is joining with the New Hampshire Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), The New Hampshire Veterans Administration, the American Legion, The Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce, the Department of Labor's Veteran's Employment and Training Service, and New Hampshire Vocational Rehabilitation to host the job fair. The event will be held Thursday, Oct. 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Steeplegate Mall at 270 Loudon Road, Concord NH.

"In the course of their service to our country, our veterans learned various skills and developed a work ethic that any employer would want in an employee. We can never fully repay the men and women who served our country so bravely and so selflessly, but here in New Hampshire we are committed to our veterans and committed to ensuring we are there for them as they have been there for us," said. Gov. John Lynch. "I want to thank all the partners who have worked closely to put this job fair together. As I have said, we cannot rest until everyone who wants a job can get a job here in New Hampshire."

This job fair is a one of a kind FREE hiring event for employers, veterans and all job seekers.

To meet the many needs of veterans and the citizens of New Hampshire, NHES Commissioner, George Copadis stated, "I am pleased to have NH Employment Security work in collaboration with the New Hampshire Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), The New Hampshire Veterans Administration, the American Legion, The Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce, the Department of Labor's Veteran's Employment and Training Service, and New Hampshire Vocational Rehabilitation to provide an opportunity for job seekers to connect with employers and resources, and also provide access for employers to qualified and trained individuals."

NHES provides free services, resources, and tools to assist both job seekers and employers with the entire job search process, hiring and employment needs. NHES has services available online and onsite at our offices to assist job seekers including an automated Job Match System, internet access, local papers, employment counseling, and career assessments, as well as workshops on job searching, resume writing and interviewing techniques.
