WorkReadyNH is a tuition-free professional development program, through the Community College System of New Hampshire, designed to help unemployed and underemployed job seekers enhance their skills and build their confidence. The program also aims to assist businesses with finding qualified employees and building a proficient workforce. Any New Hampshire resident aged 16 or older is eligible for the WorkReadyNH program.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage in a combination of live, interactive classes and independent work, providing them with the chance to learn and practice essential professional skills in a simulated workplace setting. During the program, participants will refresh skills such as:

  • active listening
  • communication strategies
  • team building
  • critical thinking
  • problem-solving
  • decision-making
  • conflict resolution
  • business ethics
  • employer expectations
  • workplace sensitivity
  • customer service
  • workplace safety
  • interviewing techniques
  • resume development

WorkReadyNH offers a fully interactive course where participants not only learn tips and strategies but also put them into practice through a group business project. Additionally, participants are enrolled in WorkKeys online through ACT, allowing them to sharpen their technical skills in reading workplace documents, applied math, and graphic literacy.

At WorkReadyNH, participants will learn how to highlight their transferable skills between careers and will have the opportunity to engage in a mock interview with professionals in the field, receiving feedback on their skills and tips for handling challenging questions.

Upon completion of the course, participants will earn two credentials to add to their resume: a WorkReadyNH certificate issued by the Community College System of NH and the National Career Readiness Certificate through ACT.

WorkReadyNH graduates from diverse backgrounds have expressed their commitment to professional growth, with many noting that the program boosted their confidence.
