CONCORD - Richard S. Brothers, Commissioner of New Employment Security (NHES) announces the release of New Hampshire Employment Projections by Industry and Occupation 2006-2016. Commissioner Brothers stated, “"ese employment projections are an important resource for many individuals to utilize for career guidance, education and training program planning, and in researching long-range employment trends."
This publication projects employment to 2016 for 116 industries and more than 700 occupations. Industry tables include numeric and percent changes over the ten years. Occupational tables include growth rates, projected openings from growth and replacement needs, and training categories.
According to these latest employment projections, total employment in New Hampshire should grow by 96,445 jobs from 2006 to 2016, which is an increase of 13.9 percent over 2006. Job gains are expected to bring total employment in the state to 791,245. In comparison, employment growth in the U.S. over the same period is projected to be 10.4 percent, from 150.6 million jobs in 2006 to 166.2 million jobs in 2016.
